 Who Is Kevin Purtell?
Kevin is one of the top-producing agents in the entire Oshkosh area. Kevin is also the Broker/Owner of The Premier Group of Oshkosh Inc. He has been actively licensed as a broker since 1980. In addition to his residential listing and sales specialty, Kevin has been involved in 5 topnotch residential developments and recently began developing commercial property.
Kevin was born and raised in the Oshkosh area and comes from a family of 12 children. Kevin married his wife Brenda in 1983 and started their family shortly thereafter. They have 3 children. The Purtells are members of St. Raphael's Catholic Church.
Kevin is actively involved in the Realtor family. He was the president of the Oshkosh Board of Realtors in 1993. As regional merger chairman, Kevin oversaw the merger of 5 local associations into the second largest realtor association in Wisconsin, the "Realtor Association of Northeast Wisconsin". Kevin became the region's first president and was selected as Northeast Wisconsin's Realtor of the year in 1995. Kevin remains active in the association on the committee level.
Kevin believes very strongly in giving back to the community. Kevin is past president of the Winnebago South Unit of the American Cancer Society (1996-Present) and is past president of the Friends of Oshkosh (1991-1997) which is the fundraising arm of the Hozhoni Childhood Cancer Camp. Kevin sits on the Advisory Committee of The American Cancer Society which plans and runs the Hozhoni Childhood Cancer Camp and was named Lourdes High School Alumni of the year in 1995.
Kevin believes his success can be traced to his balance of family time, spiritual fulfillment, knowledge of the real estate industry and commitment to the community.

An important part of buying a house is sitting down with your real estate agent or a mortgage lender to get a clear idea of how much you can afford. They will add up all of your monthly expenses, the mortgage payment, insurance, real estate taxes, homeowners or condo association fees--and the grand total can throw you into shock!

In some areas, homes with ground floor apartments are popular for offsetting part of the mortgage and offering even more tax savings.
When you make calculations about the monthly costs that include the tax savings, you may find that owning your own home is less expensive than renting a house or apartment of comparable size.
